APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP

_____________________________________________doing business in the State of Alaska as a mechanical contractor hereby makes application for membership in the Alaska Mechanical Contractors Association Inc.  The undersigned has had the opportunity to read the By-Laws of the Association in effect as of the date of this application, and during the effective period of membership in the Association agrees to be bound by these By-Laws

The undersigned appoints the Association as its agent to conduct collective bargaining labor negotiations on its behalf with Local 367 of the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the U.S. and Canada, and Local 23 Sheet Metal Workers Union, and agrees to be bound by the common result of the collective bargaining which is conducted in accordance with the attached By-Laws, to the same extent that the undersigned had individually consummated, executed, and/or signed the collective bargaining agreement thus reached.  The undersigned further agrees to those limitations on withdrawal from membership expressed in Article X of the  By-Laws, and recognizes that because of the importance to the Association that the members operate in a united, coordinated manner during labor negotiations, that withdrawal in violation of Article X would constitute irreparable injury to the Association and to its individual members, and recognizes that this agreement shall therefore be specifically enforceable in the courts of the State of Alaska or in the Federal courts.

The undersigned further appoints the Association as its agent to conduct negotiations with other groups for the benefit of the individual members of the Association, such groups to include, but not limited to, architects, general contractors, engineers, and State and Federal agencies.  Recognizing the need that the organization act in a coordinated and united manner when dealing with such other groups, the undersigned specifically consents to the restriction on withdrawal set forth in Article X of attached By-Laws and agrees that withdrawal in violation of this Article would constitute irreparable injury to the Association and to the individual members and that the Article is therefore specifically enforceable in the courts of the State of Alaska or in the Federal courts.
